4-H is the largest out of school youth development program in the state of Montana. Currently there are over 19,000 youth 4-H members stretching across Montana's 56 counties. 4-H wouldn't be possible without the dedicated MSU Extension personnel and the 4,000 certified volunteers throughout Montana. The Sunshine Snippers 4-H Club of Big Sandy has 19 youth members this year. Club members have been putting in many hours and working hard on preparing for the Chouteau County Fair. The Sunshine Snippers 4-H Club kicked off the new 4-H year in October with the annual awards ceremony in Fort Benton. Members received numerous individual awards and the club took home several group awards; Horse Herdsmanship, Swine Herdsmanship and Beef Herdsmanship. The Herdsmanship Awards are chosen by the barn superintendents and are awarded based on a club that goes above and beyond during the Chouteau County Fair.
