    The Big Sandy Swim Team swam to a third place finish, scoring 681 points at the Columbia Falls Invitational Swim Meet. They finished behind Bitterroot (982 points) and Columbia Falls (767 points); despite both teams putting almost double the number of swimmers in the water.     The Big Sky State Games swimming competition was held this last weekend in Billings. Six of the Big Sandy Swim Team members competed for their first time at the state games. This was a new experience for the Barracuda swimmers, as the majority of the competitors are year-round competitors.     The Big Sandy Swim Team dominated the pool at the Shelby swim meet, scoring 803 points to grab first place in team scoring and earned their first trophy of the season.     The Big Sandy Swim Team season opener was held in Harlem this last weekend. Overall, the team brought home second place honors, scoring 658 points and finishing only seven points behind Chinook.     The Big Sandy Pioneer Track Team competed Wednesday, may 9 at the District 9C track meet. The Lady Pioneers brought home fourth place honors, scoring 37 points and the Pioneers placed 5th, scoring 51 points. Overall, 15 of the 19 athletes qualified to advance to the divisional meet.     The Pioneer track season started nearly three weeks later than usual, thanks to the winter that wouldn't end. The Pioneer squad has almost doubled in size from last year.     The Big Sandy Swim Team ended their 2017 season with a second place finish in the Class A division at the state meet in Lewistown. The Barracudas scored 358 individual points, but fell short of the championship to western division rivals, Conrad swim team.     The Big Sandy Swim Team brought home more hardware this weekend, placing third place overall at the western divisional swim meet. The team scored 538 points, falling just 11 points short to the Conrad swim team. The western divisional champions, the Bitterroot Swim Team, scored 1443 points.
