The year 2024 has been positive for the senior center, although it has also brought some sadness. We have been able to offer a wider variety of dishes on our menu, along with homemade baked goods, and engaging activities such as bingo nights and pinochle. We've made new friends and mourned the loss of a few; may they rest in peace. We set a goal to acquire a generator for the facility, similar to the one at the hospital, and we are very close to reaching this goal. We hope to raise the...
In September, we were busy preparing for our first bingo night in May. The school was in full swing, the weather was more tolerable, and we were planning menus for fall and winter while attending meetings to prepare for the 2024 Christmas stroll. Bingo night was fantastic despite all the other activities going on in town. We had a lively crowd and multiple bingo winners. Carol called the numbers, Rosella helped sell bingo cards, and Robin managed the food orders. We had local attendees as well as a few from Fort Benton; it’s always a p...

Well here at the senior center we took on mother...
WITH A BLINK OF THE EYE THE YEAR HAS COME TO AN END AND CHRISTMAS IS ONLY A FEW WEEKS AWAY. November proved to be a busy month here at the senior center. We started our month with preparations for our Veterans Day lunch. We served roughly 75 meals with half of them being take out meals. Everyone seemed to enjoy the good old rib dinner. We would like to thank Marlys at Agri Prairie for her donation of meals to all veterans. The following week we had a non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner of pork...
October proved to be a hectic month here at the senior center. We started the month with pinochle and greeting card making and ended the month with pumpkin decorating and a family fun night. The beginning of the month started a little slow, but as the month progressed, we became busier. Each event brought in brought in new guests. We had guests from Rocky Boy, Box Elder, Fort Benton, and a few from Great Falls who came and enjoyed lunch, Thursday morning cinnamon rolls, and a few of the events...

I was born and raised in California about 30 miles from the beach, but I never felt it was home. Since I was sixteen years old, I planned on moving out of this state with the thought of only returning to visit family and friends while on vacation. My husband, on the other hand, was just the opposite, he loved California and the thought of leaving the beauty of the coast, and the perfect weather had never entered his mind. But the reality was we couldn't afford to live in the state and have the...
