One of the least known displays offers up one of the best moments of the Chouteau County Fair. It is watching F. E. Miley grade-school children look for their ribbons at the School Department. Each grade having a booth. Each year, students choose 3-4 art projects to take to the fair during the school year. Tim Labuda reported what was exactly wrong and gave some ideas on how to replace the heater. Generous friends of the program have donated funds to give an award of $5.00 to each person age 8 through adult who will spend an hour or so creating some artwork. The swim meet in Fort Benton is a two-day event like every swim meet competition weekend. This meet had 380 participants from 12 towns. The city park is scattered with tents, and around the edge numerous trailers with air conditioning, which is really good because at 92 degrees it was hot. On July 1, 2018 Father Pete retired after 41 years of service to the Big Sandy, Box Elder, and Rocky Boy Catholic Churches. Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, the Friends of the Missouri Breaks Monument (FMB) and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) sponsored the 1st Missouri Breaks Triathlon. As you approach the pool you can hear lots of children's laughter, finding it surprising that only eight children are swimming. Thirty-two children took lessons this summer at the Big Sandy Swimming pool, but for each session, there were eight children and four teachers.
