    Apr 27, 2022

Mayor Shaud Schwarzbach informed the Mountaineer that the mainstreet construction would start on May 9th. It will begin at the Bakery and go down that side of the street to the Catholic Church before it returns down the other side of the street. One side of the street will always be open to traffic throughout the project. It will probably prevent any main street parking, however. They will have weekly construction meetings, so we will be able to give updates weekly. They should be done in early...

  • Patching Cracks

    Erik Sietsema|Apr 27, 2022

I have been preaching through the book of Acts at my church for the past 8 months, taking time off for a Lent and Christmas series. This past Sunday, I reached chapter 17 and began delving into Paul’s visit to Athens, in ancient Greece. While reflecting on the text, I had an interesting realization. Paul arrives in Athens with the goal of waiting there for several traveling companions to meet him. Most translations say that he looked around the city and was troubled by the excess of idols. The word in the original Greek would be stronger t...

  • Thoughts with Zoe

    Zoe Merrill|Apr 27, 2022

When I first moved to Big Sandy to a farm out southeast. A huge cottonwood tree greeted everyone at the start of our farm. Over the years, the tree was poisoned by weed spray from airplanes spraying the crops right above it. It finally died and stood for years with its white skin against the blue sky, but ultimately, my husband cut it down. Years later, I saw what I thought was a fantastic picture-a sunflower growing out of a dead tree stump. I've come to understand its message to me. We...

  • A Small Big Sandy team still does their best

    Zoe Merrill|Apr 27, 2022

On a cold, windy day in Choteau, Montana, 24 schools attended a track meet. It was well attended because a track meet was not canceled. Although the Pioneers didn't have anyone running in the 100 meters, just to let you know how huge the meet was, 89 high school boys ran in the event. Big Sandy was missing a large portion of their team while participating in the Music Festival in Havre. Others traveled to Bozeman to watch Kade Strutz play in the Bobcat gray and gold scrimmage. In the 100, 53...
