  • Big Sandy Community comes out for Memorial Day Parade

    Zoe Merrill|Jun 7, 2023

It starts at the Big Sandy Museum, with breakfast served by the Big Sandy Historical Society. However, it's more than breakfast. Sitting around drinking coffee and catching up with friends is the real draw. Breakfast is cooked outside in a tent, brought in, and served by the door. If you didn't have an opportunity to eat, you also didn't have an opportunity to donate to the Historical Society. They need your support to keep the museum open. If you didn't eat there, you probably aren't aware of...

  • Pioneer Pen

    Dan Schrock|Jun 7, 2023

It is hard for me to believe that this is the last day of school for the Pioneer staff and students. It seems odd to me for the school to be this quiet and devoid of the laughter that we shared throughout the 2022-2023 school year. Odd as that may be, I am so very appreciative and happy for all of those who gave so much of themselves and their time and those who have grown so very much throughout this past school year. I want to wish all of you my best wishes for a safe and memorable summer under the Big Sky with family and friends. I’d also l...

    Jun 7, 2023

Joyce was born to Lowell and Helen (Collins) Terry on a farm near Fort Benton, Montana, on February 25, 1941. After her birth, the happy parents were surprised when her identical twin was born! When they were little girls of six, Joyce and Janet heard and believed the good news that Jesus Christ died and rose again to be their Savior. Janet went to heaven that very day. Grieving for her twin, Joyce was sure that God had a purpose for her life. She passed away on May 17, 2023, in Spokane,...

  • Patching Cracks

    Erik Sietsema|Jun 7, 2023

Many years ago, while I was working as a chaplain for a mental health facility that worked with children, we would take a group of clients on a trip to canoe, camp, and fish in the Boundary Waters Wilderness in Northern Minnesota. One year, on the last day of our week-long trip, we were traveling to the spot where our outfitter was going to pick us up. We were competing with a deadline for pickup, and were traveling a long way. I was sharing my canoe with a young lady from our addictions treatment program. A terrible storm was bearing down on...
