    Robert Lucke|Oct 5, 2016

To coin an old phrase, “There is trouble in River City”. Due to that trouble Alan Merrill and some Farmer’s Union representatives have just come back from Washington D.C. While there they presented Senators and Representatives with four top issues. They were adequate farm and food support, Trans-Pacific Partnership, Renewable fuel standard and Corporate Consolidation in Agriculture. More about them later, but what led to that particular Fly-In is a disaster brewing in the agriculture right here at home. Merrill said that cattle prices have...

  • Bear Paw Meanderings

    Robert Lucke|Oct 5, 2016

Fall foliage is early this year. I went to Glacier National Park last weekend and saw wonderful fall foliage way before October 1 which is very early. It also looked as if Glacier National Park officials are keeping Going-To-The-Sun Road open longer and the foliage up there was spectacular to say the least although when we got to the top of Logan Pass the temperature was about 38 in the middle of the day and there was a very cold wind blowing in from the east. Made for not staying out of the car long at the top. I have not mentioned going in...

  • My Answer

    Dr. Billy Graham|Oct 5, 2016

Q: A Sunday school teacher I had over 30 years ago died recently, and I feel bad because I never thanked her for what she did for me. We were a rowdy bunch and I’m sure she got discouraged, but she planted spiritual seeds in my soul that eventually grew. Maybe my letter will encourage other teachers. A: Thank you for your letter; I too hope it will encourage those who have been called to teach the Bible, especially to young people. We can trust God’s promise: “My word … will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve...

  • Pioneers take a hard loss against the NS Knights 41-47

    Fred Watsein|Oct 5, 2016

The men in Purple had more total offense and lead 20-6 at the half and hung on 28-26 at the end of the third quarter but the end result is not one of fairy tales. 41-47. One could rattle on about injuries or a young squad coming of age, but looking at the stats we should have won. The stats just didn't happen when we needed them to. Offense stats we got Weston Allderdice putting up 320 yards rushing and Jordan Schwarzbach adding a rushing touchdown making total offense 353 to Northstars 344 and...
