The Medical Guild Rummage Sale took place last weekend (October 6th and 7th) with record-breaking results. The fundraiser helps the Medical Guild purchase supplies, equipment, and necessities for the Big Sandy Medical Center. Navy Blue I was excited to go to Charlie Overbay's corn-husking party. I wanted to know how the corn faired with the drought and the grasshoppers. Charlie pointed out Dave Christensen from Big Timber, who was already husking corn. Dave is the corn breeder, something he has been working on for 50 years. Each year he hopes to make better corn. The Angel Basket program is now accepting applications from families looking to receive support with their Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations. Angel Tree baskets are for families in need during the holiday season. They include food items for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Bruce Lynn Sterrett, 71, died of natural causes on Tuesday, October 3, 2022 at Big Sandy Medical Center. Bruce was born June 8, 1951 in Havre, MT to Mary (Williams) and Howard Sterrett. He joined brothers Larry and Jerry. He was raised on the family farm in Havre and attended Havre Public Schools. The Big Sandy Youth Group Halloween trick-or-treat food drive will be taking place on Wednesday, October 26th between 7 and 8 PM. The food drive is a long/running tradition for youth groups in our community. Our pastor, Sue, had told us she was doing the “ blessing of the animals” at the churches in Havre and Chester. Did we want to have a service also? Of course, we did.
