Upon researching Covid-19 on the CDC website, I found 8,911 results. If I just searched masks, I found 6,112 results on masks. The first travel-related case of COVID-19 in the United States was on January 21, 2020. The first Person-to Person spread of Covid-19 was on January 30, 2020. We now have almost 10 million. Initially, about 200 test kits were distributed, testing up to 800 individuals per kit. If a Laboratory ordered a test kit, they would be sent one. One of the other problems was data originating from all 50 states and all tribal...
After 43 years of teaching in Big Sandy, Larry and Chris Brumwell are retiring. The couple came to Big Sandy in 1978, right out of college and have served our town for their entire careers. Chris pointed out that Big Sandy was both their first and last teaching job. The pair came to Big Sandy specifically because the school was looking for a Special Education teacher. As Chris explains: "They wanted Larry; they were looking for a Special Ed teacher for the High School. There was no Special...

Last week, the Choteau County Health Department issued a new set of guidelines for handling Covid in...

Around and about two years ago, I decided we must get two baby goats. I had seen cute videos, and our farrier's wife was selling them. Two good reasons, they are Pygmy Dwarf goats who came to us tiny and now have big bellies but are still short. For some unknown reason, the song 'Cisco Kid" by War began playing in my head. If you have never heard this song, you must check it out. In it, it says Cisco drank the whiskey, Pancho drank the wine. Well, one little guy certainly struck me as a Cisco....
Adversity builds character, it's a simple truth, and if you had the privilege to watch this weekend's football game, you witnessed that firsthand as the Pioneers pushed past the visiting Bridger Scouts 36 – 12. In what felt like a real-life version of the movie "Groundhogs Day," the Pioneers took the field the begin their playoff run with another Proulx hobbled on the sideline. Senior Parker Proulx suffered a season-ending knee injury on the second play of the game during last week's win over W...

The Pioneer Volleyball team played each game like it might be the last. The Pioneers took on the task to host half the District tournament this year, the other half was played in Fort Benton. Big Sandy played their first game of the tournament Thursday night, taking on the Northstar Knights. The Pioneers...
