You say tomato, I say tamot or in this case, you draw a tomato, I draw a tamoto. As Big Sandy High School's new art teach Monika Winderl explains it, "We all have different levels of ability it doesn't mean we don't have potential. The Tomato I draw may look very different from the tomato you might draw but, that doesn't mean it's not a tomato". These are the kind of beliefs that guide her teaching style. She tries to look for the potential in each of her students as she pushes them to step...

Many Chouteau County producers research their winter wheat varieties in the spring and their spring crop varieties in the Fall. As a result, it is time to let producers know about a new malt barley called Buzz. Malt Barley is generally rejected when seed is not plump and/or protein is too high. Hockett, a malt barley released by MSU, generally has stable plumps and good yield under dryland conditions. However, grain protein can be too high. Hockett is also slow to germinate, complicating the malting process. The malt quality of Hockett is also...

    Zoe Merrill|Aug 21, 2019

I was sitting in the 4-H Chuck Wagon eating the fair special pulled pork, baked beans, and coleslaw in a plastic cup. A little boy waiter came up to me and asked if I wanted him to remove my cup. I said, "No, I'm not through eating yet. I just talk too much." He smiled as to comfort me and said, "My mom does that too." There is only one event that helps Chouteau county residents...

Big Sandy only has Wells Fargo Bank, and the closure would leave the town with no...
