It was a very successful Fireman's Auction at Loma this last weekend. The auction, which goes into the general fund to help pay for the event, brought in over $10,000. Overall they raised over $24,000 for the various fire departments. Todd Witt said there were around 300 people this year, which is hard to determine because it is a bigger space. The Montana Actor's Theater production of Macbeth ran for three showings in Beaver Creek State Park over the weekend of August 25th through the 28th. They are still on target; instead of paving the east side when scheduled, they decided to pave both sides together because the Great Falls Refinery is closed down. A Big Sandy native and her husband have published a book dealing with his experiences in 1967 Atlanta while living in an all black dorm. Bridge of Demarcation by Duane and Loretta Johnson tells the story of a racially-charged time through the eyes of a native born Montanan. In Spring, 1974, some friends were visiting and mentioned the Hi-Line Senior Citizens Center one of them belonged to. An interested Big sandy individual called a group to her home to discuss the possibility of organizing a similar group and a nominating committee was chosen.
