The Pioneers had their first games this past weekend, but like in past years, I will only be writing up Varsity games, and this past weekend, only the Lady Pioneers played against Winifred. So this article will be about their game. The referees set the tone with fouls from the get-go, with Keira Galbavy picking up her first right away, but a block from Keira also followed that. • Winter sports: Basketball and Wrestling are ready to start

    Zoe Merrill|Dec 4, 2024

Head Wrestling Coach Kyle Rodewald told me that besides assistant Tucker Taylor, “Samuel Cox will be the volunteer assistant. That way, we’ve got somebody the right size and younger than me and Tucker to wrestle with Daryl. It’s actually going to be really good. He’s getting ready to get into shape for the Air Force. So it’s a win-win. You have to get in shape and, at the same time, whip Darrell into shape; that worked out pretty darn handy. They are good friends, great practice partners, and everything last year for senior years.” Coach Rodew...

  • A tremendous year for the Lady Pioneers

    Nov 20, 2024

The Lady Pioneer volleyball team came up a little short this past weekend at the State tournament in Bozeman, but these girls have nothing to hang their heads about. They got to play in the Montana State University Fieldhouse against two tough teams (DGSG and Sulphur Springs) and worked very hard to get a win but just fell short. This team proved themselves time and time again this season and did so well every time they stepped on the court. Good job this season, ladies; hold your heads high;...

  • Lady Pioneers take 1st at Divisionls -on to state

    Nov 13, 2024

These girls are on to STATE!!! The way they have battled these last two weeks to prove that they have what it takes is admirable. I say this a lot, but I will repeat it. These girls have heart! Plain and simple. (And great coaching)! For a team to face adversity like they have the last 2 weeks and how they overcome it and WIN....baffles me. The grit, the teamwork, the hard work, the hustle, and the heart! I am so proud to be a Lady Pioneer volleyball fan! This past weekend at Divisionals, the...

  • Records Broke: on to Divisionals

    Nov 6, 2024

I am almost speechless about this Lady Pioneer volleyball team...I have watched a lot of sports in my life, and I genuinely believe these girls should've been featured on ESPN's SportsCenter Top 10 after their District performance! These girls are made of something special. And you know you can see it every time they are on the court. But because I also know that it's not just about how hard those girls work, I have also to say that they are the way they are because of coaching. Nowadays, so...

  • Pioneers fought hard but loose to Bears 32-61

    Oct 23, 2024

Despite the early lead by the Box Elder Bears, the Pioneer football team demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination. The score may not fully capture the intensity of the Pioneers’ battle, especially when they had to fight hard for every yard after falling behind early. It’s a testament to their spirit and dedication to the game. When I asked Coach Tucker how he felt about the game, he said, “I thought the boys played a fairly good game. We didn’t capitalize on our first few offensive drives, which didn’t help. We played well in t...
