Hitting 8 of 17 from behind the acre and shooting 52% from the field the Lady Bears came up with a big victory over the Lady Pioneers. The Lady Pioneers fought hard and never gave up. On Friday night the Pioneers faced the Box Elder Bears, in a game where the contest where the Bears would get hot from the behind the three-point line giving the bears the 34-25 edge at half time. This year, the Pioneer Girls coaches are Travis Baumann, Katy Nicholson, and Ella Jurenka as a volunteer coach. There are 14 players for Varsity and JV, 12 high school girls, and two 8th graders. The Big Sandy Pioneer Wrestling team has three boys. Darryl Sunchild is coming back from an injury he sustained in football season. The Lady Pioneer put together a great season on the volleyball court and have so much to be proud of. Their success was all around solid both offensively and defensively. They ended the 2021 season with 1,435 Digs, 617 Kills, 495 Assists, 83 Blocks and 205 Aces. The District 7C Volleyball Tournament was held October 28-30 in Chinook, featuring nine teams battling it out on the court. The Lady Pioneers entered the tourney in 6th seed, matching up against the 3rd seed Chinook Sugarbeeters on their home court. The Pioneers worked as a cohesive team to fight for each point, working up to a 17-22 score.
