As a team, they scored 391 individual points, but found that they were outmatched by the larger teams of Lewistown, Columbia Falls and Bitterroot. The annual Montana 6-Man high school football all-star game is took place June 5 in Highwood. The kick off was at 7. The game pitting the Red against Blue, which was canceled last summer due to COVID-19, is to kick off at 7 p.m. in Highwood. The Big Sandy Swim Team took 1st place at the Harlem swim meet this weekend. The team was led by a phenomenal performance from senior swimmer Brady Pleninger, who set three new federation records this weekend. Pleninger broke the 50 yard free record with a time of 22.81 seconds. The previous record was held by Keane Fink, set in 2010 with a time of 25.07. The 2021 wrestling season was still in a questionable status at the start of the year. The dedicated athletes, coaches and parents of the Pioneer Wrestling family elected to forge ahead and keep our program growing. Mother Nature finally cooperated and gave the Pioneers a perfect day for a spring track meet in Choteau. The Big Sandy girls placed 6th with 40 points and the boys placed 11th with 17. It was cold and windy-a typical track day in Havre, Montana. As one parent put it, 'It's better than no season at all," as was the case last year, with the entire year was lost. This year the grade school basketball season shorten but at least held. Coaching the girl's basketball this year was Jamie Worrall and Katie Heppner. Jamie Worrall said, "It was a great year we had 14 girls out. This was a great group of girls. They were really fun to work with."
