The Big Sandy Pioneers couldn't overcome the Sunburst Refiners passing attack Friday night. Big Sandy's defense stood tall early trailing only 6-0 entering the second but the Refiners put up 26 in the second and 22 more in the third to pick up a 61-13 Northern C six-man football win over the Pioneers.
Senior Josh Solf scored on a 35 yard run and junior Lawrence Allderdice hauled in a 31 yard pass from senior Zach Works for Big Sandy's 13 points.
The Pioneers will conclude their season October 23 when they will face the Geraldine/Highwood Rivals.
