One of the most endearing events in the Big Sandy Christmas Stroll is Breakfast with Santa that happens at the Mint Family Room where Tammy and her crew really go all out to provide breakfasts for children and adults who want to see Santa and his elves and get their picture taken with him.
The event goes from 8:30am to 10:00am. All children eight and under are invited to have breakfast with Santa.
It costs five dollars per child and for that the child gets a special “Christmas Breakfast”, gets to talk with Santa and parents or grandparents will get a 5 by 7 picture of the event. Then there will be a present from Santa himself and children will be entered into a special drawing for the big Christmas bonus package which is a huge Christmas stocking laden with prizes.
Those who go to this event will know that the traditional elves were missing last year. Well, they are back this year and not only that but some larger elves are meeting as you read these words, just wondering what mischief they can conjure up during breakfast.
Call them greeters or reindeer or master elves. For goodness sake call them something for they don’t have a clue what to call themselves!
The Chouteau County Cancer Support Group will have a table at the craft show where they will be selling luminaries. Buy one and you can write the name of someone with cancer or some loved one lost to cancer on the luminary. The luminaries are sold by donation and do not have any set price.
The luminaries will be lit and on display in the Firemen’s Park. Stroll organizers are asking to take a moment and walk through the park when the luminaries are lit in support of our loved ones fighting cancer and remember the people we have lost.
Donations are distributed to help Chouteau county residents struggling with cancer.
Don’t forget the Ugly Sweater blank sweaters that are at Wells Fargo. There are some left so get yours while there are some to get. There are also a couple of children’s blanks.
Stroll buttons are on sale now and most all prizes are on display at Wells Fargo Bank.
