Six rounds were completed by six tables, one table with only 3 players. We had 23 players – best ever so far! The following were the winners at the pinochle tournament held on Sunday, January 24th at the Mint. High round (four hands) for the day went to Karla Whetham and Earl Sluggett with a 1770!
Cashing in were: 1st $25 – Frank Moravec with 6,240 points; 2nd $20 - Wilma Welty with 6,070; 3rd $15 – Jason Sluggett with 5,990; 4th – Karla Whetham with 5,820; earning $5 each (getting their money back!) were the following places: 5th – Earl Sluggett with 5,790; 6th – Krystyl Kulbeck with 5,370; 7th – Shawn Webster with 5,180; 8th – Nora Grubb with 5,180; 9th – Maggie Richter with 5,160; 10th – Mica Griffith with 5,130; 11th – Sheila Duncan with 4,970; and 12th – Joe Landinger with 4,900. Low honors (also ‘earning’ his money back!) went to Kris Davidson.
Reminder: Sign up is from 1:45 to 2:00 with play to (hopefully) begin at 2:00pm. We like to have full tables of four so please get there early to sign up so that we can begin play on time!
Play for February will be Sundays, February 21st and 28th. Watch for the green signs posted at The Grocery Store, the Mint, and the Senior Center. For February, the 7th is Super Bowl Sunday and the 14th is Valentine’s Day so there will not be play these days.
