Tour one is hosted by Andrew Long and is of the Oil Barn and includes the process of turning waste oil into fuel for two farm tractors.
In addition Thomas Dilworth will give the audience a preview of Kracklin' Kamut and what the future for this product might look like.
Tour Two is the Orchard Tour hosted by Charlie Overbay. See actual peach trees growing in the Montana prairie as well as a huge dry land vegetable plot that is irrigated only by rain.
Tour three is about Winter and Spring Wheat Trials and is hosted by Bob Quinn. See twelve crosses of wheat, thirty different wild wheat species, a demonstration of Heritage as well as Ancient wheat.
Hear about strains of wild wheat that are wonderful for our area and how to choose that wheat that stands without tipping over, it tends to grow so high.
There is also a demonstration of the best selling wheat each decade for the last hundred years in Montana. This should be a must see especially for wheat growers.
The fourth tour is a rotation and input of test plots. Hosted by Chad Fasteson, it is a place to hear a lot about organic production and how to transition to it as well as what happens in various plots. Different treatments bring totally different results.
Lunch will be at noon. It will be catered by Chandee Bomgardner and includes pulled pork sandwiches served on Kamut rolls.
Supper will be served as well. It will be catered by Champos Pizza in Great Falls and will feature Kamut pizza.
At 7 p.m. there will be an old fashioned variety show. If you have an act or something you would like to feature for the variety show, contact Bob Quinn at 378-3105 to be included.
