Chili Feed, Football, and Fire Trucks; Friday October 7

Hold on to your hats partners, for the 61st Annual Chili Feed is right around the corner. It will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016. Chili with all the fixings will start to be served around 4 p.m. on the Friday of the Pioneers home game against Valier. Hamburger for the chili has been donated by the IX ranch and the firemen themselves are responsible for some of the best chili ever served north of the Rio Grande!

This is a mega fundraiser for Big Sandy and has been responsible for keeping the Volunteer Fire Department’s equipment better than most for a town of Big Sandy’s size. State of the art could be a good description of the Big Sandy Volunteer Fire Department and most of it is due to Big Sandy residents loving chili, loving to buy raffle tickets and the love to get together for an event that has taken place of the Big Sandy football homecoming.

Raffle tickets are a buck each and a person or family could win all sorts of good things.

How about a fleece blanket donated by Wells Fargo?

A fifty dollar gift certificate donated by The Mint.

A fifty dollar gift certificate donated by Peps Bar and Lanes.

A one hundred dollar gift certificate donated by Big Sandy Supply

One of two 2 ½ pound fire extinguishers donated by Ezzies.

One of four carbon monoxide detectors donated by Courtnage and Sons.

One of five turkey and ham combo packages donated by Jim and Marla Ray.

One of four halves of pork donated by Golden Harvest Seeds.

One of two halves of beef donated by Brian and Dana Gasvoda.

So, a person could go home with the winter meat supply all taken care of. How does it get better than that?

Well it does. For just plain fun and plenty of good grub, this is an event not to be missed.

That is the 61st annual Chili Feed and raffle, this Friday, October 7, 2016.
