It seems of late like there are a lot of people retiring from the Big Sandy community or changing jobs. With every change someone goes home and lives a completely different life style and someone takes over a position and brings new ideas to the workplace.
That was all happening in spades when Linda Rutledge retired from the Senior Citizen's Center and Karma Hale took her place.
It was the young taking over for the not so young when Karma had her first day in the Senior Citizen's Center on November 1.
She has not stopped running ever since. This interview was on November 22, and she and her cooks were building a complete Thanksgiving meal to be served at noon that day. And yet Karma looked cool as a cucumber.
Karma was born and raised in Montana and says she applied for the senior position at the Senior Citizen's Center because she loves to cook.
"I have already interjected some of my own menus in our Senior Citizen's Center menus and will do that more as I see what people like to eat around here.
Karma said that her Bourbon Chicken was very popular in November. So popular, in fact, that she is putting in on the menu again in December.
Karma doesn't bat an eye when asked about her biggest challenge in getting meals prepared and served at the Center.
