Pearl Jam will be inducted for the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of fame. Big Sandy native and 1981 Big Sandy graduate Jeff Ament is the bass player and co-founder of the band.
Pearl Jam with Big Sandy native Jeff Ament playing the bass for the super group will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 7, at Barclay's in Brooklyn New York.
This is a great honor bestowed upon the band and an incredible epic journey the band has been on since it was formed in 1990.
Ament began finding headway as an artist and musician in the 1980's. Prior to Jeff being in Pearl Jam Jeff was a member of Seattle bands Green River and Mother Love Bone.
Ament, Eddy Vedder, vocalist for the band and Mike McCreedy and Steve Gessard, guitarists with the band have been there since the band formed in 1990. Drummer Matt Clmeron joined the team in 1990.
Pearl Jam has outlasted almost all bands from the grunge era. 2017 will be the widely popular band's 27th year together and it has a lot to do with a respectful and honest working relationship between all members in the group.
Ament told the Great Falls Tribune in 2013, "I remember hearing stories twenty years ago about how important trust was in a relationship and how you can't grow without trust and I feel that more than ever in this band.
The reason that it works so well for us when we are in the studio or writing or playing live is how much we trust each other." Ament added, "We all feel that the trust everybody has for us. I think that makes everybody take their particular spot in the band more seriously. You don't want to let anybody down and you don't want to let the band down."
Congratulations Pearl Jam and to Jeff. Montana installed a hard work ethic in Jeff and he took that with him on his journey as an artist and musician.
