Short & Sweet: Re-branding honors Big Sandy

Remember the name, Big Sandy Organics. You are going to hear a lot about it in the years to come.

When the Bob Quinn team holds its open house in new headquarters at 275 Montana Avenue West, one of the purposes is to announce that there is a new brand for many of the Quinn products.

The new name is short, sweet and honors the origins of Kamut and the Kamut organization. The new name for products made locally will be Big Sandy Organics. That new branding will start with the salty snacks, and then go to the oils, soaps and anything that is made in Big Sandy.

Not a part of the rebranding but a major step forward for Big Sandy Organics happened on July 19 when a group of food inspectors were in town teaching the Quinn team how to sell to huge chain stores and that group looked over the new plant and facilities and made suggestions about selling to big organizations.

To sell to the huge organizations and larger food chains of the world, everything from food safety to risk management in food manufacturing was covered in an extensive class that prepared Big Sandy Organics for life in the big time.

After those classes it was off to the James Beard Event in the Hamptons, New York called Champagne and Chefs. There were 50 chefs invited to the event and all were given samples of all the Big Sandy Organics. Among other things given to the chefs were a thousand samples of everything from Kracklin Kamut to soaps, oils, and pasta flour.

Those attending the James Beard event from Big Sandy said that it went very well and went a long way to make the Big Sandy Organics brand known nationally.

Big Sandy Organics is here to stay and just simply getting better known all over the United States not to mention a large European market.
