Sondra Jean Hanson passed away peacefully on Monday September 18, 2017 in Parker, Colorado from a stroke. She passed quickly and peacefully surrounded by her family.
Sondra was born in Havre Montana March 24, 1942 to Robert and Evelyn Schwartz and was raised in Big Sandy, Montana with 4 brothers Bob, Rich, Ralph and Bruce. She attended college in Havre, Montana where she met her best friend and husband of nearly 55 years, Don. Sondra and Don enjoyed many years of travel, and adventures together. Most recently she and her husband Don planned to start a new life close to their sons in the Denver area.
Sondra was very active her entire life. She loved traveling to the pacific northwest coast to catch crab and fish for salmon, summers with friends and family at Flathead Lake, and winters in Arizona. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends.
Sondra was a very talented and creative person. She was generous in gifting her quilts and paintings. She also enjoyed many other hobbies including fishing, skiing and golfing. Sondra was active in Bible Study Fellowship until she became ill in July 2014 and spent years recovering from various health issues as a result of acute pancreatitis that almost took her life on several occasions. Her love for Jesus and her trust in God was lived out in her constant smile and her strength and patience. Sondra was also a survivor of breast cancer and if people would like to donate please donate to a charity in her name.
Sondra is survived by her husband Donald, her son David Hanson and his wife Paula and children Dillon and Brooke, her son Dean Hanson and his wife Tracey and children Matthew and Nathan, and her brother Bruce Schwartz.
Memorial services will be at 1 PM on October 7th, 2017 in First Presbyterian Church of Missoula, 235 S 5th St W, Missoula, MT 59801.
