"Visions of Christmas Past" Big Sandy Christmas Stroll News Other activities going on in town

Several vendors will be out and about participating in the December 2 stroll in Big Sandy.

It might be a sun shiny day with temperatures in the 50’s and it might be cold and snowy but whatever the weather, there will be plenty of people strolling and plenty more tempting those strollers with their wares.

Take the Senior Citizen Center in the middle of downtown Big Sandy. They will be having their famous cinnamon roll and bake sale starting at 9am that day and lasting until all the baked goods are gone. Here is a tip from the Senior Citizens Cooks. Buy enough cinnamon rolls for a Christmas Morning feast, freeze them and then thaw them out Christmas Eve and you will have your Christmas breakfast complete and wonderful as well.

Later that day the Senior Citizens Center will be serving their famous spaghetti dinner. The price is right on the spaghetti and the dinner itself is as good as any you could find. Not only that but they will deliver meals to people at the Craft Show. The Senior Citizens Spaghetti Dinner lasts from 11:30 to 1:30 on December 2.

The Big Sandy Pharmacy has added some special treats for young and old during the Christmas Stroll.

Buy Christmas decorations that day at the Pharmacy. Many people buy one or two new ornaments each year for their Christmas tree. This is a perfect place to get this year’s decoration or to get a new tradition started at your house.

There will be handmade baby quilts and ornaments for that special gift that can be found no where else.

And for the kids, both young and old, there will be face painting and many kids crafts during the day.

Feast on hot coffee, hot chocolate and cookies when enjoying the exciting events at the Big Sandy Pharmacy.

Hours on Stroll day for the Big Sandy Pharmacy are 10am to 1pm.

Something for everyone at the Big Sandy Christmas Stroll and lots to do and see at the Pharmacy.

The Jeff Reichelt Memorial Library has lots going on during stroll Day.

The Library will be open from 1 to 3pm and while the good Ladies of the Library are serving up all sorts of homemade goodies and good things to drink, there will be many kids crafts going on and there will be a special Christmas Story Time as well.

Ladies of the Library will also be across the street selling raffle tickets at the Craft Show for the beautiful quilt that was made by Judy Bissell Hawkins and donated to the library. Judy Bissell Hawkins graduated from Big Sandy High School in 1966. Stroll Day is the day this wonderful quilt will be raffled off and finds a new home.
