Big Sandy Student Art Show at The Mountaineer

Don’t miss the Second Annual School Art Show at “The Mountaineer” office December 2, Stroll Day.

Big Sandy art teacher Jessie Jaramillo has put together a show of her students work that they have been doing since the first of the year.

The work is from K through 12 and is about every subject known in the Big Sandy area.

And there is plenty of it.

You will see everything from pastels to pencil drawings and many different mediums and subject matter that is just simply all over the place.

You will be amazed at how full “The Mountaineer” office will be with almost every type of art that there is.

Jaramillo will be showing some of her own art work too. She is into a most interesting medium. She takes things that others have discarded and turns them into beautiful sculptures.

Jaramillo is from Helena and so there is a strong Montana background to her art and her students, being from this area, the Montana theme could really be seen last year and probably it will show through this year as well.

If you have children or grand children in the Big Sandy school system, chances are you will see their art in this huge display of the finest of Big Sandy school art.

Throw in a healthy dose of home treats, cookies and the like, from Jaramillo and you will be glad you went to this art show.

Jaramillo has sort of brought art back in the community and although she says she thinks that the Big Sandy community has always been very united, one thing she tries to do with her art is bring the community and the schools closer through art.

The art show is on Stroll Day, December 2nd at “The Mountaineer” office and offers a huge range of wonderful pieces all made right here on the Big Dry!

Don’t miss it!
