The Lippard-Clawiter Foundation has released their list of county-wide distributions for 2017. The Foundation awards grants to non profit organizations all cross Chouteau County. This year they contributed a total of $422,485, that is about $15, 000 less than last years contributions.
The Lippard – Clawiter Foundation was first started in the 1980’s. Over the years it has paid out a total of $7,637,370 in grants, supporting local fire departments, pools, libraries, youth programs, and community clubs in Chouteau County.
The Foundation has a board that comes together every year to review the grant proposals and makes the selections of recipients. The currents members are, President, Allin Cheetham, Vice President, Stan Klimas, board members, Don Engellant, Robert Quinn, and Darren Schuster.
Big Sandy received $71,015.00 of the Lippard-Clawiter grants. Here is were it went.
The Town of Big Sandy received $10,000 for additional equipment for Big Sandy parks (3 in town),
Big Sandy Rotary Club received $2000.
Big Sandy Swim Team received $2,500 for swim equipment.
Big Sandy Medical Center received $10,000 for various updated equipment.
Big Sandy Medical Guild received $5000 for new oxygen concentrators, nebulizers, Oti CCp-TSA machine.
Big Sandy Volunteer Fire Department received $10,000 for personal protective
gear.
Big Sandy Historical Society received $5000 for operating expenses.
Big Sandy Senior Citizens Center received $1,205 for a new desk and meat slicer.
Big Sandy Volunteer Ambulance received $5000 for training room upgrades.
Big Sandy Search and rescue received $5000 for “Jaw” upgrade.
Big Sandy Activities received $7000 for bathroom upgrades.
Big Sandy Cultural Fund received $10,000 to install electrical rewiring, front entry door, projector and screen, and to digitize newspapers.
Big Sandy Little Guy Wrestling received $4000 for new wrestling mat, operating cots for tournament.
Big Sandy TV Club received $3000 for insulating TV building, and to purchase a air conditioner.
