Barracudas are Class A State Champions!

The Big Sandy swimmers concluded their 2018 season by winning the state championship in Class A of the Montana swimming federation; their highest achievement since the formation of the team seven years ago.

The Barracudas placed seven swimmers in the high point rankings, with Dillin Geyer winning the 13-14 boys division and setting pool records in the 50 fly and 100 fly.

Cam Schwarzbach placed second in the 13-14 boys division, breaking the 100 free pool record and the 200 free pool and federation records. Kody Strutz brought home 9th place in 13-14 boys division, with a win in the 100-breast stroke. Daisy LaBuda placed 4th in the 11-12 girls division, scoring 32 points. Kade Strutz scored 34 points to place 5th and Brady Pleninger placed 8th and won the 50 free in the senior boys division.

In her final swim meet for the Barracudas, Jenna Leader scored 35 points and won the 50 fly to place 4th in the senior girls division. Also competing for their last times as Barracudas were Lainey Gregory and Sophia Reichelt.

The Barracudas will be celebrating their state championship August 11th with a celebration parade around time at approximately 4:30 p.m. and potluck dinner at 5 p.m. All are welcome to attend!
