Helen Ruth Curtiss (Henderson) Former Montana resident, 94, died July 5, 2018, at her home in Napavine, Washington.

Mrs. Curtiss was born at home in Warrick, Montana to Frank and Lois Henderson on June 15, 1924. She attended high school, along with her siblings and cousins, in Big Sandy, Montana. During her high school years, she met Leonard Ray. They married on December 7, 1941 in Big Sandy.
She moved to Washington state in the early 1970’s. She retired from the Group Health Cooperative of Washington in 1994 and moved to the Chehalis/Napavine area in Lewis County Washington where she resided until her death.
Helen enjoyed crocheting and making quilts for friends and family members. She received a blue ribbon at the Lewis County Fair for her quilting work.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lois; four sisters Marion, Frances, Verna, and Betty and a brother Frank; her daughter Betty Ann Forest, son Jerry Ray; two grandchildren, Bruce John and Virginia Lane Eller and one great grandson Christopher Michael Mattson.
She is survived by her daughter Harriett Morley of Chehalis, WA; 7 grandchildren, Terri Williams of Federal Way WA, Debbie Johnson of Renton WA, Patricia Beston of Tacoma WA, Tina Pettit of Edgewood WA, Tammy Hewlett of Moses Lake WA, and Scott Forest of Ephrata WA. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and innumerable cousins, nieces, and nephews.
