This year the Big Sandy FFA is super excited about fundraising. They’re going to be selling fruit and Christmas wreaths until October 31. All the FFA members are going to be going around town to their family and friends to raise money for this amazing group. Hopefully, all of the kids can happily reach their goal and enjoy all the fundraising.
The fruits that will be sold include oranges, grapefruits, and mandarins. The oranges and grapefruits can come in a 20lb box for twenty-five dollars or a 40lb box for fifty dollars. And the mandarins come in a 5lb box for fifteen dollars. All of the fruit is fresh and absolutely delicious.
The members will also be making and selling Christmas wreaths. They’re all really excited about going out and finding nice things to create the reefs with. The wreaths are going to be fourteen inches with a price of twenty-five dollars. The members have a goal of about two hundred dollars sold per kid. The kids all seem confident in completing their goal and will enjoy doing so.
So far, the members have attended Fall Districts and the DLS event. The members in Fall Districts attended both the agronomy and the livestock contests. Everyone did well and had a great time. The DLS event is a annual event where new members of FFA can come and be introduced to everything and where officers come to learn new things for the season. The state officers come to the DLS event, including one of last year’s high school graduates from Big Sandy, Andrea Rutledge. The state officers have activities and speeches for the members and make the whole event memorable.
The next event coming up for the FFA members is the JDAE, John Deer Ag Expo, in Bozeman Montana. All the members and Mr. Taylor, the FFA advisor, are very excited for the upcoming events and hope to do well. So, to wish good luck and show support for the FFA team, please go and buy some yummy fruit or fun Christmas wreaths.
