Roberta Edwards wanted to design a button making sure the rope was an integral part of the design knowing the CSI Country Christmas was using rope as a central decorating point in the Cowboy Christmas theme. Roberta has been taking art classes at MSU Northern Montana in Havre and was excited to use what she has been learning to create a button to help celebrate the season.
She always has fun experimenting using a different approach to each art work. This button was created on watercolor paper using watercolor paint and watercolor pencils. She also used Micron Pens. Micron Pens have fine-point drawing abilities with waterproof, quick-drawing pigment ink. The ink will not feather or bleed even through the thinnest paper.
Roberta wanted to acknowledge Maggie Cline and her expertise in getting the design just right on the button. "She has to make everything fit. She has quite a system. She is responsible for making the art work fit onto a button." Maggie has been creating the buttons since the beginning of the Christmas stroll buttons have been offered.
After she gets the design so it's displayed exactly right the Big Sandy Activity Center makes the buttons. On an average Big Sandy Activities makes 1,000 buttons including 500 adult and 500 children buttons.
