Meal Planning

Big Sandy Library
Stop by anytime between 3:00 and 6:00 pm and work on developing a personalized meal plan. Leave with a printed menu, recipes, grocery list and daily nutrient intake values to meet your dietary needs.
Why plan out your meals?
By having a plan for your meals, you will save money, prepare and eat more healthy meals and reduce your stress. By sticking to a grocery list for the meals planned, you will not overbuy and you will have less waste due to using the ingredients needed for the planned meals. The stress and pressure of trying to decide what to eat for that meals is alleviated. With a meal plan, family members can look at the plan and share in preparing the meal. Although it takes time to plan out the meals and make your grocery list, it will save in the end.
To reduce the time in planning a weekly menu, you may recall the Diabetes Food Hub™ resource by the American Diabetes Association that I discussed in my article last week. To take it a step further, the Big Sandy Library and Chouteau County Extension are offering some time to come to the library and access the Diabetes Food Hub™ online and create your own meal plans. You will be able to select recipes from the site, place them in the weekly planner and leave with your printed menu, your selected recipes, a grocery list and the daily intake values of the meals you selected. If you are tired of coming up with ideas for meals, come check this out.
