The Pioneers competed in two track meets this week, the Fairfield Belt Invitational and the Cascade Top 8. Thirty one teams were invited to the Fairfield-Belt meet, which featured the majority of the Class C and B Northern Divisions. In the discus, Kade Strutz brought home a 3rd place finish, while Brock Proulx placed 6th. Strutz placed 5th in the shotput and Brock Proulx placed 7th. Parker Proulx placed 7th in the javelin. The distance running duo of Ryan Roth and Jeremiah Genereux placed 5th and 10th in the 3200, respectively.
Seven Pioneers were invited to participate in the Cascade Top 8, which features the top performers in Class B and Class C in the Great Falls area. Ryan Roth and Jeremiah Genereux both had big showings, by breaking their personal records in the 1600 and 3200. Ryan placed 2nd in the 1600 and 1st in the 3200. Jeremiah was right on his heels, finishing 3rd in the 1600 and 4th in the 3200. Brock Proulx brought home 4th in the shot, 6th in the discus and 7th in the javelin. Parker Proulx tossed the javelin to a new personal best and a 3rd place finish in the javelin. Kade Strutz rounded out the scoring for the throwers with a 5th place finish in the shotput and 4th in the discus. Clint Darlington triple jumped his way to a third place finish. Seanna Demontiney ran the 1600 for the Pioneers, finishing 8th.
Complete meet results are available on Athetlic.net. The Pioneers were scheduled to attend the Jason Groseclose Memorial in Rudyard this week, but Mother Nature had other plans for our team. The next meet will be the District 9C meet, held in Havre on May 8th.
