As the summer moves along, the boys and girls basketball players have been getting into the gym. Just like the volleyball girls, the basketball players get scheduled time to be supervised in the gym twice a week. The players go in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. All the players are grateful for these great opportunities the gym opens up for them.
Working on sports during the off season helps teams bond and perform better during their season. Basketball is a sport that needs hard work and dedication. All of the players enjoy the game and being able to get into the gym is very good for them. Pete Jerrel, Travis Baumann, Thomas Dilworth, Laci Keller, and Serena Cator volunteer their time to supervise and help the players. They are highly appreciated and helpful.
“Scrimmaging with our team is helping us be able to play better with each other,” commented a girls basketball player. Not only are the players’ skills improving but the team’s bond is improving as well. All the players are learning new things about each other and experiencing their new coach, Pete Jerrel, before the season starts. Both the boys’ and girls’ team are hoping for a great basketball season.
The more players that come to open gym the better! Being able to work with each other and learn new skills together is going to consequent in an amazing season. Good luck to all the hardworking basketball players!
