Jimmy was born on August 18, 1952, in Havre to James and Catherine (Pursley) Brewer, and was raised on the family ranch outside of Big Sandy. He attended the Eskay country school through the eighth grade, and graduated from Big Sandy High School in 1972. After graduation, Jimmy worked alongside his dad on the ranch until his health forced him to retire in 2000.
Jimmy was a quiet man with a dry sense of humor who loved the ranch life, especially chores. His favorite times of the day were milking and bringing the cows in at night. He was quite the homebody, but loved to see his nieces and nephews. Jimmy's great-nieces and great-nephews were a major source of joy to him these past several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Jimmy is survived by his siblings, Beverly Phalen, Jerry Brewer, and Cheryl Pavlovick, all of Big Sandy; nieces and nephews, Sonia (Cody) Powell of Chinook, Cody (Salina) Pavlovick of Atlanta, Georgia, Terra (Max) Vogel of Havre, and Mitch (Jeri) Pavlovick of Harlowton; 9 great-nieces and great-nephews; and his beloved companion-pup, Buffy.
