John Deere Ag Expo was held in Bozeman at the Montana Stare University, on November 14th through the 16th. As one of the biggest events of the year, students from all across Montana can connect and reunite with others wearing the blue jacket. Over fifteen different events are put on that FFA members have opportunity to learn, study, and compete in.
This year Big Sandy FFA brought 21 members. For many they attended their first FFA event and competition in some of the various parts of agriculture. Our chapter placed well individually and as teams in many of these events. The junior Livestock Team took fifth with Reinhard Bold placing second and Cooper Taylor 10th overall. Next, our junior Mechanics team won first on Friday with Reinhard Bold in first and Connor Sibra in 9th individually. In the Senior Agronomy competition, Katherine Bold placed eighth and we placed seventh as a team. Lastly, Katherine Bold took sixth place in Range Management. We are proud of their hard work and of everyone willing to try something new.
FFA helps to build leaders, make us successful, and grow and thus we are thankful the role of FFA and Ag in our lives as well as the continual support from our communities.
