Pack the Place In Pink, February 1

The yearly tradition to support breast cancer awareness is Feb 1st at the basketball game in Big Sandy. The Pioneers will be playing Fort Benton that night. Everyone is encouraged to wear as much pink as you can to support breast cancer awareness. The Pioneers lost to the Longhorns in Fort Benton after some hard battles. Come on out and support two great causes, your Pioneers and Breast Cancer awareness.

Do you know someone that had breast cancer? Or has breast cancer? There are so many stats you should know, the following below are just a few.

Did you know that 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime?

Did you know that an estimated 268,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer in women is expected from the year 2019? And another 2,670 new cases in men?

Did you know that for women in the U.S, breast cancer deaths are higher than any other cancer besides lung cancer?

Did you know that as of January last year (2019), there are more than 3.1 million women with a history of breast cancer in the U.S. This includes women currently being treated, and women who have finished treatment?

Did you know that 5-10% of breast cancers can be linked to gene mutations inherited from one mother or father?

Did you know that 85% of breast cancers occur in women who have no family history of breast cancer. These occur due to genetic mutations that happen as a result of the aging process and life in general, rather than inherited mutations.
