The Pioneers hit the road this week, traveling to Fort Benton on Thursday for volleyball and then onto Stanford on Friday to play DGS. The football team is also on the road, playing North Star in Rudyard. As I mentioned in last week’s article, the Northern Division struggled to come to any consensus on Covid-19 guidelines, with each community having different views on how best to manage spectators during a pandemic. Here are the Covid-19 expectations for each school we are visiting this week. If you are planning to support our Pioneers, please adhere to the following Covid-19 requirements for each school.
Fort Benton: Please register with Big Sandy High School if you are planning to attend. You can register by clicking the link on the Big Sandy High School Web Page or the Big Sandy Schools Facebook Page. If you’re not tech savvy, you can call Wendy at the high school office to register. It is recommended that all spectators wear a face covering. Children under 12 year of age are required to be with an adult at all times. Lower level seating is only available for Fort Benton students, handicapped and senior citizens. Any other spectators will sit in the upper seating area. Once seated, fans are asked to remain in their seating section. If visiting the restroom or the concession stand, please wear a mask and adhere to physical distancing guidelines. Announcers will periodically remind spectators to maintain appropriate distancing and to wear face coverings.
Stanford: Masks are encouraged but not required. Fans are asked to use good judgment and practice appropriate social distancing. Concessions will be available.
North Star: Only parents are allowed to attend the football game in North Star. Pioneer fans can tune into the game on the NFHS network. More information regarding locations broadcasting the game will be made available closer to game day.
