Pioneers end their season at Districts

Saying this season was unconventional is an understatement. With all the Covid rules, limited seating, masks, and the always looming questions of "Are we going to get to finish the season?" The Pioneer Volleyball team played each game like it might be the last.

The Pioneers took on the task to host half the District tournament this year, the other half was played in Fort Benton.

Big Sandy played their first game of the tournament Thursday night, taking on the Northstar Knights. The Pioneers came out to play and give it their all. The girls, had a strong start. There was a lot of back and forth throughout the game. In the end the Pioneers fell to the Knights in Three games. Big Sandy totals were, 13 kills with Amiya Griffith with 6, 36 digs with Alicia Bjornestad with 11, 12 Assisits, Alicia Bjornestad having 4.

Final scores- 15-25, 11-25, 20-25.

Big Sandy vrs. Centerville

The Pioneers played a loser game Friday at noon, taking on the Centerville Miners. The Pioneers had split the games against them in the regular season and were ready to take them on again.

The girls played hard all four sets. Amiya Griffith had 8 of the teams 22 kills. Maylayshia Baumann contributed 12 Digs to the teams 60. Amiya Griffith took the lead with 2 of the teams 3 Blocks, and Alicia Bjornestad took the lead with 16 of the teams 21 Assists.The Pioneers fell to the Miners in 4 games, 21-25, 25-19, 23-25, 22-25.
