Sarah's Craft Creations, a new Big Sandy Home business

I have known Sarah Shaw for quite a while. I was also looking for someone who could do alterations or mend small projects. Yes, I sew, but finding the time or, for that matter, the desire to mend hasn't been in the works. Sarah sews. I didn't know she even had a small business where she could do all of that and more. Sarah's Craft Creations will do alterations and mending. You don't have to give them or throw them away.

If you look on Facebook at Sarah's Craft Creations, you can see various professional-looking sewing items she has sown. She learned to sew when she was eight. Her mother taught her to sew before she lost the use of her arms due to MS. I thought maybe she was a product of a 4-H club, but she never was in the organization. "I love sewing! I do create some patterns, but I usually use what I have, or go and find new patterns."

You will see she has made handbags, koozies, decorated pillows, face masks, neck pillows, nurses tunics, and aprons on her site. There are Christmas stockings, an advent calendar, and baby doll things. She will take special orders. I liked the Amelia Earhart hat and jacket she made. There are T-shirts, tops, and hats. She can also embroidery on any sewing project.

But, what brought her to my attention was my search for who could make me some mugs, coffee mugs exactly, preferable locally. I was given Sarah's name, and I am excited that she can create exactly what I want. Sarah has a laser that engraves coffee mugs. She can get any color you want, and then she etches the design on the cup. "I was doing it (decorating) by hand, but now my hands are angry." The cups are washable because the design is etched in. It takes her about two hours per cup to make them after locating the color and ordering them in.

She can also do coasters.

If you would like to contact Sarah, you can call her on her cell phone at 406-240-4867.
