The Big Sandy Medical Guild has postponed the Rummage Sale and Pie Social, due to rising concerns of increased COVID-19 cases, but the fundraising efforts will continue through the sale of raffle tickets. Proceeds will be earmarked for much-needed upgrades to the kitchen at the Big Sandy Medical Center (BSMC).
Guild members decided to “err on the side of caution,” according to Lisa Sipler, “because the pandemic lockdown process was very difficult for our residents.” By postponing the popular community event, “we will reduce the risk of exposure for our volunteers and BSMC staff.”
Prizes for the annual drawing are currently being collected; contact Roberta Edwards (390-2997) for pick-up. The donations will be on display at First Bank of Montana.
Raffle tickets will be on sale soon at several locations around town and from several guild members. More details will be forthcoming in the Mountaineer.
