Lady Pioneers Battle the top two 9C Opponents

After a long cold Christmas break the Lady Bears did not come out on the basketball court cold. Hitting 8 of 17 from behind the acre and shooting 52% from the field the Lady Bears came up with a big victory over the Lady Pioneers. The Lady Pioneers fought hard and never gave up. Eva Wagoner led the way for the Lady Pioneers with 8, Jai Baumann with 6 and Eva Yeadon added 5 points. Malaysia Baumann checked in and quickly knocked down a nice 3 ball to finish the game. Final school Box Elder 75- Big Sandy 26.

Saturday night the Lady Pioneers traveled to Gilford to take on the number two North Star Knights. The girls came out a little slow but they turned up the heat on their defense in the end of the 1st quarter coming up with some big steals and hitting a few big shots. The Lady Pioneers kept battling until the last second and put up a good fight. They were led by Jai Baumann with 15 points, two of which were big 3's in the game. Jai also had 5 steals creating positive momentum in the game. Eva Yeadon added 10 points, 3 blocks and pulled down 6 boards. Eva Wagoner played an aggressive defensive game with 4 steals and added 8 points. Amy Gasvoda knocked down 3 big buckets for 6 points. Lainey Terry carefully delivered a few nice assists to her teammates and also contributed 5 points. The Knights get the winvon the contest but Lady Pioneers made them earn it. Final Score North Star 54 - Big Sandy 46.

This week the Turner Tornadoes come to town on Friday night with varsity game action starting at 5:30 . Saturday the Lady Pioneer take on the CJI Hawks. Come out and show your support for the Pioneers!
