Big Sandy Medical Center Expanding Services

First, I have to say, as the Interim CEO for Big Sandy Medical Center, how much I’ve appreciated the warm welcome and engaging conversations with so many of you already and looking forward to meeting others of you as the weeks go on.

And it’s been a pleasure working at Big Sandy Medical Center which in my opinion has some of the best employees in Montana. The community is very fortunate to have a local hospital, clinic and wellness center staffed with such dedicated and compassionate caregivers and support staff. Every day they strive to provide the best service and kindness you expect and deserve.

On that note, I’m excited to share the expansion of services coming up in the next couple of months. First, we are adding a new lab Hematology Analyzer that will allow our lab to increase the number of tests that can be done locally rather than sent out, thus speeding up the turnaround time in receiving lab results. With the addition of this piece of equipment the lab is now completely state-of-the-art.

Second, the medical center has recently become accredited to provide Diabetes Education programs with services provided by Krystyl Kulbeck, PA-C. Diabetes has become a major health issue in our country and locally. By offering these services to the community, the goal is to assist patients with managing their diabetes in ways that improves their health and wellness. The program is being implemented during the next couple of months so more detailed information will be forthcoming next month.

And finally, based on community feedback and pricing data, we will be lowering the charges for chiropractic services provided by Dr. Pat Kadrmus in the new Wellness Center effective September 1, 2022. The lower charges will more closely reflect the going market rate and costs of providing theses services. Dr. Kadrmus has been a great addition to our community and we are happy to make these changes to improve the affordability and access of his services.

There are many more great things happening at our local hospital but I’ll save those for another time. I’d love to hear from you anytime you have questions or concerns or want to share a positive story with me.
