Pioneers Handcuff Outlaws 50-0

The Pioneers were able to shutout the Roy-Winifred Outlaws in route to a 50-0 victory on Friday night. Braydon Cline connected with Kody Strutz on a 5 yard touchdown reception to kickoff the scoring. The next score came when Lane Demontiney took an Outlaws punt back for an electric touchdown return. Early in the second quarter the Cline to Strutz connection cashed in for a 10 yard touchdown reception. Just a few minutes later Wylee Snapp found his way into the endzone on the receiving end of another gem tossed by Quarterback Braydon Cline. Senior tailback Rusty Gasvoda would take a 3 yard rush into the endzone to put the Pioneers up 36 -0 at halftime.

Cooper Taylor flashed his speed midway through the third quarter when he took another Cline pass for an 8 yard touchdown reception. The Outlaws struggled to get anything going on offense throughout the contest but found themselves in scoring position midway through the fourth quarter. The Pioneer defense however was not to be broken. Cooper Taylor intercepted the pass from the Outlaw quarterback at the goaline and returned it 79 yards for the final Pioneer touchdown.

So far this season the Big Sandy Pioneers have maintained a very balanced offense that has made use of the many weapons at their disposal. The stout Pioneer defense gave up only 2 first downs the entire game in a very impressive performance. The teams next contest will be against Sunburst this Friday at 7PM. The Sunburst Refiners also hold a 2-0 record to start their season.
