Big Sandy Senior Center received a donation of $510 from Lewis and Clark Caverns and Jefferson Inn. They held a raffle and wanted to donate to a Senior Center that was doing a good job recovering from difficulties and was currently in compliance. The check was given to the center by Nichole Thennis, OAA Nutrition & Evidence-Based Program Manager, Montana Office On Aging.
During public comment, Pat Matthews thanked the board for all their work to get the center up and running. She commented how everyone was doing a great job.
It was good to see Carla Courtnage as a new board. It is good to have her involved again.
With fundraisers always in mind, the center has a new Beef raffle. There are two options, both costing $5.00 for one and $10 for three. Various steaks and 1/3 pound of hamburger patties are in the selection.
The center will be serving the November 11 Veterans Dinner again this year. Agri-Prairie Insurance is once again the sponsor for the meal and will pick up the meal cost for every veteran.
The Big Sandy Christmas Stroll breakfast with Santa is something new this year. It will be held this year at the Senior Center. So the center will be full of Santa's helpers, Santa himself and the children. There will also be a lunch served that day during the Big Sandy Christmas Stroll Craft Bazar.
