What's Happening at the Library

November was a busy month at the Big Sandy Library. After school and on Fridays with the kids. Our weekly activities include Power Hour, which is everyday afterschool until 5:00pm. This is when kids can come down and use our computers or just use the wifi for their computers to do their homework. There is always someone to help if they need it. Robotics Club meets every Tuesday at 4pm-5pm, Lego Club is every Friday at 11am- noon and story time for the toddlers every Wednesday at 10:30am.

There were also other fun things mixed in. The month of November kids brought their favorite stuffed animal to have a stuffed animal sleepover at the library. The stuffed animals made championship buttons for the football team, played on the computers and with the legos.

December started off with the Christmas stroll. The library had a fantastic turn out. The Friends of the Library had baskets to raffle. Money raised from the baskets goes towards supporting the library in various ways that the library budget doesn’t cover. If you're interested in being a friend of the library our next meeting is Friday, January 13, 2023 at 10:00am. We had 180 people come through the library the day of the

Christmas stroll to join in the Christmas fun.

Come to the library the month of December for more Christmas fun. We have a Christmas craft every Thursday at 4pm-5pm, and a Christmas movie every Friday in December at 11:00am. Our Christmas-themed Stuffed Animal Sleepover December 20th at 4:00pm. Pick up your stuffed animal on the 21st to find out what they did at the sleepover. There is a Nerf gun war on December 27th at 2:00pm.

Our monthly calendar and pictures of the fun can be found on our Facebook page @bigsandylibrary.
