Big Sandy is Full of talented musicians

A Spring Recital was held on May 9 at the Christ Lutheran Church; Piano instructors are TJ Bond, Michelle Danreuther, Nona Danreuther, Dianna Keane, Marla Ray, Susie Sant, and Jaycee Worrall.

Marla Ray's Students: Giving her last performance as a student of Big Sandy is Jaycee Worral, who played Sonatina in C Opus 55 and Le Petit Negre. Parker Yirsa played The Cuckoo and the Donkey. Jaesun Yirsa played Greensleeves. Wren Danreuther played two songs, Scarborough Fair and Almond Nougat. James Ray also performed two songs, "Lonesome Broccoli Bllues and Fiesta Fever. Lyndee Worral played Ever Evolving and Sonatina in C Major. Marla Ray also taught Kanin Sura to play Comin Round the Mountain, a duet with Marla and From A Wig Wam.

Jaycee Worrall is also a piano teacher, and her students, Georgia Silvan, played The Windmill. Paxton Yirsa played Sailing, and Kiki Overbay played The Lion Sleeps Tonight.

Susie Sant taught her children and a couple of others. Jack Sant played Mission Impossible, Peyton Sant played Little Indian, and Angie Sant played Don't Give Up on Your Dreams. Isaac Goodman played the Entertainer, and Davy Overbay played the Russian Sailor Dance.

TJ Bond taught Evalina Wagoner, who played The Groove. D'Aree Sunchild played Giotto's c\Campanile. McKenzie Werk played Mystical Dance. Dorothea Merrill played Winter Wind. Daijalin Sunchild played Rock on D, and Gabriella Cox played Jeepers, Creepers!

Nona Danreuther had a duet with Eryn Hartley in The Perfect Nanny. Harley Labud played two songs, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and Do You Hear What I Hear? Elise Hartley played two songs also, The Ludlows (them from Legends of the Fall) and He's a Pirate.

Michelle Danreuther taught Cove Danreuther, who played Old Mac Donald Had a Farm. Chaz Danreuther played the fiddle, Playe May Song and Wren Danreuther also played the fiddle playing the Happy Farmer and the Minuet #3.

Dianne Keane teaches her children Kennedy, Bridger, and London Keane. Kennedy played Castle Days, Bridger played Cool Duet and Duet with Dianna, and London played Mysterious Rider.

Reading about the concert is not the same as listening. It's so impressive to watch and listen to these students. Big Sandy has powerful musicians. I mean, after all, what town of 600 has seven Piano Instructors?
