Penny Smoot recognized for Best Practice in Quality

According to a news release by Benefis Teton Medical Center one of Big Sandy's own has helped Benefis Teton Medical Center has been recognized as one of the top 20 critical access hospital in the country for Best Practice in Quality. The hospital's Quality Program is led by Director of Nursing Penny Smoot, daughter of Don and Rita Robertson, she and Medical Director Dr. July Borland. The hospital's providers and nurses play a vital role in attending to various emergencies ranging from vehicle accidents to farm/ranch injuries, and even grizzly bear mauling's. The award, presented by the National Rural Health Association, acknowledges the hospital's exceptional performance in areas like quality, patient perspective, outcomes, and cost. BTMC, which became part of Benefis Health System in 2015, has made significant investments in equipment and Benefis providers from Great Falls regularly offer specialty services in Choteau. "As a member of the Choteau community, I feel blessed to have access to the quality services BTMC provides, said Susan Murphy, chief operating officer.
