CULTURAL CENTER REPORT

Tourist season is here, and the Big Sandy Cultural Center has recently entertained visitors from New York, Maine, Vermont, Oklahoma, Los Angeles, Butte, Helena, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Great Falls, Chinook, Havre and Rocky Boy.

A Hoagland family sent the following email: Hello! We stopped in yesterday and you gave us the tour of the center and we just wanted to

thank you again! We're the people from Hogeland and I don't think we even gave you our names yesterday! Levi, Carrie, and our daughter Juliann.

We really enjoyed it and are glad we stopped! I have already told people that they should definitely stop

by there whenever they're close so hopefully we won't be the only ones from Hogeland that will have a look! Thanks again! The Tomaskie-Hawley Family

Visitors have spent as much as three hours, often watching the popular video “Montana Picnic in Central Park .” A Great Falls couple came back to watch the video a second time.

We are having an on-going sale to benefit The Dedman Animal Rescue in Fort Benton and our Cultural Center. Donations are tax-deductible. We’re selling books, records, some antiques and other items.

Come in and play the Yamaha Grand Piano, watch one of our 600 movies, take the “tour.”

The Center is a spot to bring visiting relatives, guests. There are many art materials for use by children and the young at heart. Composer and pianist Phillip Aaberg gave an hour-long recital and praised the marvelous piano.

We’re sorry about the schedule change of our neighbor, the exceptional Elevated Grains Bakery.

It provided delicious pastries for the visiting Cascade String Quartet from the Great Falls Symphony.

We hope to follow their performance with the Chinook Winds Ensemble.

Irregular open hours, so contact Doug Giebel at 406-378-2430; 406-378- 2514 or email bscf@itstriangle.com.
