Heather Wolery wrote, "Our dear friend, Leon, was involved in a semi vs. motorcycle accident in July. He lost his left leg and the use of his left arm, and spent 21 days in a coma recovering. After waking from his coma, he was moved to Advanced Care Hospital where he continued to recover. He spent several months there regaining his strength and preparing for a move to a Rehabilitation Facility. At the beginning of October, he went to St. Luke's in Spokane and learned to walk with a prosthetic leg. Leon is a rock star and is already back home and learning how to live with his new normal."
"Leon is a friend to many here in town, and if you have ever met him, then you know what a great guy he is. Shane and I put together this fundraiser to help offset the incredible medical burden that Leon and his wife, Michelle, now face due to this accident. Josh Danreuther is providing a wonderful meal, pulled pork and fixings, that you don't want to miss. We have received many amazing donations that will be auctioned, either live or through silent bidding sheets. We also have box raffle items you can win. Please come join us for food and fun this Saturday, November 11th at 6:00 at the Jerry Martin Memorial Hall and help in any way you can."
