A Great Season comes to an end for the Lady Pioneers

The Lady Pioneers volleyball season unfortunately came to an end this past week at Divisionals. They played a tough Belt team to start off with and lost in 3 sets; the next morning, Big Sandy played Simms and lost in four sets to the Lady Tigers.

Both games showed some hard work and great communication from the Lady Pioneers. They did have some errors, but their grit and tenacity were also fully displayed. These ladies should be very proud of themselves for a great season and for showing true hard work on the court.

They played the Lady Huskies to start and battled hard but lost in three sets with scores 19-25, 10-25, and 12-25. Those stats are as follows:

Digs: 39, with Eva Yeadon having 8

Assists: 14, with Jai Baumann having 11

Kills: 14, with Eva Yeadon having 7

Block: 1, with Eva Yeadon having the 1

Aces: 0

The Lady Pioneers then turned around and played the next morning against a tough team, the Lady Tigers. Once again, the girls showed some tough work and hustle and battled hard, but Simms won in 4 sets with these scores: 24-26, 25-21, 13-25, and 15-25. The stats are as follows:

Digs: 71, with Eva Yeadon having 20

Assists: 26, with Jai Baumann having 21

Kills: 24, with Keira Galbavy having 14

Blocks: 11, with Keira Galbavy having 6

Aces: 3, with Keira Galbavy, Eva Yeadon, and Jai Baumann all having 1

When asked how Coach Brittany felt about the season, she said, "Overall, it was a great season! We beat teams we've never beaten and accomplished a lot as a team. We were very young this season, which makes it all the more exciting when looking to the future. This season was special, with our team being so small. It truly was so much fun! I want to thank Lainey Terry for being such a wonderful senior for us. Her commitment and dedication to the Big Sandy Volleyball Program these last four seasons did not go unnoticed. I am beyond proud of these girls."
